Snelling Named MVC Golfer of the Week

Freshman Emily Snelling has been honored as the Missouri Valley Conference's Women's Golfer of the Week.

Snelling (Clear Lake, Iowa/Clear Lake HS) took home medalist honors at the Indiana State Spring Invite. The event was held April 8-9 at the Terre Haute Country Club. Snelling shot a season-low round of 70 that featured six birdies in her opening 18 holes. Snelling posted a final round of 77 that included three birdies. Snelling won the tournament by four shots over a trio of golfers.

The freshman's performance makes her the first Panther women's golfer to win a tournament outright since Paige Van Dyk won the Whistling Straits Intercollegiate on October 12-13, 2015.

Snelling and the Panther women's golf team will travel to Newton, Kansas, this weekend to take part in the Missouri Valley Conference championship meet. The meet will take place April 15-17 at Sand Creek Golf Course.
