Bentley Named MVC Field Athlete of the Week

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – After a javelin win at the Gibson Invitational over the weekend, University of Northern Iowa track and field junior Anna Bentley was named the Missouri Valley Conference Field Athlete of the Week, the league announced on Tuesday.
The MVC weekly honor is the first for Bentley at UNI, while the laurel is the fourth for the Panthers overall this season with Lauren Frederick, Brette Correy and Sarah Pate all claiming the award during the indoor season.
Bentley earned a mark of 130-05 at the Gibson Invitational in Terre Haute to kick off the outdoor season with a win in the javelin. The win for Bentley was her first collegiate win at UNI. Bentley's mark ranks second overall in the MVC for the 2018 season.
Overall, UNI won 11 events on the weekend to dominate the field in Terre Haute. The men won the Gibson Invitational with 229.50 points, while the women placed third with 145 points.

A select group of Panthers will head to Iowa City, Iowa on April 12 for the Musco Twilight.
