Panther Women Dominate Day Two of Spring Break Tourney

TROPHY CLUB, Texas - The University of Northern Iowa women's golf team continued their domination at the ORU/SFA Spring Break Invite, as their score of (309) in round two strengthened their first place lead.Â
UNI will head into round three tomorrow with an overall score of (623), which is ahead of all participants, including Oral Roberts as they sit in second place overall with a team score of (638).
Three Panthers currently have homes built within the top five, as freshman Emily Snelling is tied for second place, while senior's Maddie Bertsch and Paige Van Dyk are knotted up at fifth place overall.Â
Snelling stroked three birdies in round two, which assisted to her career-best finish of 1-over (73). Van Dyk ended the afternoon 4-over (76), elevating her overall score to (154).Â
Tied at 20th and 32nd place overall are Sarah McMichael and Hannah Bermel. Bermel improved from yesterday's 15-over (87) performance with a 9-over (81) finish today, while McMichael, for the second day in a row, also finished 9-over (81).
Sydney Eaton and Anne Gradoville, UNI's individual golfers, are currently placed at 24th and 30th overall. Eaton shot 6-over (78) today, while Gradoville finished 10-over (82). Both performers notched a birdie in round two, helping each of them improve from their round one scores.
The Panthers will play the final 18 holes tomorrow in hopes of sweeping all three rounds and heading home in first place.
