UNI Women's Golf in 1st at Spring Break Tourney

TROPHY CLUB, Texas - The University of Northern Iowa women's golf team is in sole possession of first place following day one of the ORU/SFA Spring Break Invitational.
The Panthers shot a round one score of 314, placing them ahead everyone, including Oral Roberts, University of Texas at Arlington, Florida Atlantic University, Bowling Green State, Stephen F. Austin and Creighton.
Senior Maddie Bertsch remains on fire as her 3-over (75) performance leaves her in first place overall after round one. Bertsch posted four birdies in the opening round.
Tied for 5th place overall is Paige Van Dyk, who shot 6-over (78) on the day. Just a few strokes behind Van Dyk is Emily Snelling, who shot 8-over (80) in round one.
Sarah McMichael and Anne Gradoville finished the day 9-over (81) and 13-over (85). Gradoville is participating as an individual along with Sydney Eaton, who shot 14-over (86) on the day and is tied for 33rd place overall.
Lastly, Hannah Bermel sits at 36th place following a round one score of 15-over (87).
The Panthers will play another 18 holes tomorrow in hopes of strengthening their first place lead.
