IOWA CITY, Iowa—The University of Northern Iowa women's swimming and diving team is in third place after seven events at the Missouri Valley Conference championships.
Katie Taylor won the 200 IM, swimming a time of two minutes, one second and seventy-five hundredths of a second. Taylor was runner-up in this event a year ago.
"I was nervous going into this race and worked hard to get a great swim. I know I have a lot of work to get back on the podium for the 400 IM," commented Katie Taylor.
Crystal Florman took second in the 50 freestyle, timing in at 22.88. Molly Lembezeder tied for third-place with a time of 23.04. Lembezeder's preliminary time of 22.97 and Florman's final time were both good for NCAA B cuts.
"Both girls (Crystal and Molly) have done a good job of pushing each other and continue to rise together," commented head coach Nick Lakin.
