MVC Slate Released For UNI WBB

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – With the 2017-18 season inching closer and closer, the Missouri Valley Conference released the women's basketball league schedule on Tuesday, with the slate featuring nine home games for the Northern Iowa Panthers.
Four of UNI's games will be featured on ESPN3, with a pair on the road and a pair at home. The Panthers' game at Southern Illinois (Jan. 5) and Drake (Jan. 19) will be the first batch, with UNI's home contests against Drake (Feb. 16) and Illinois State (Feb. 23) to cap the TV slate. Times will be announced later.
UNI, which enters the season seeking its eighth-consecutive postseason appearance, will host a total of 13 regular-season opponents in Cedar Falls. The MVC season tips off on Dec. 29 at home against Loyola-Chicago, with the Panthers also hosting a New Year's Eve contest against Valparaiso to cap 2017.
Following the two-game homestand to open the conference slate, the Panthers will hit the road for a pair of road games against Southern Illinois (Jan. 5) and Missouri State (Jan. 7) to ring in the new year. Evansville (Jan. 12) and Indiana State (Jan. 14) will make a trip to Cedar Falls to next week, before the Panthers hit the road again – this time for a three-game stretch – against Drake (Jan. 19), Bradley (Jan. 26) Illinois State (Jan. 28).
The second half of the league slate will see UNI returning to the McLeod Center, as the Panthers host Missouri State (Feb. 2) and Southern Illinois (Feb. 4).
Coach Warren's squad will travel to Indiana State (Feb. 9) and Evansville (Feb. 11) to continue the month's slate, before the Panthers cap February with a three-game homestand against Drake (Feb. 16), Illinois State (Feb. 23) and Bradley (Feb. 25).
The regular season concludes with a pair of road games to Valparaiso on March 1 and Loyola-Chicago on March 3, before the MVC Tournament gets started on March 8-11 in the Quad Cities.
