UNI Soccer Opens 2017 Season

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa —The University of Northern Iowa women's soccer team will hold its Purple and Gold Scrimmage 5 p.m. Aug. 6 at the Cedar Valley Soccer Complex.
The Panthers return nine of their 11 starters under head coach Bruce Erickson.
Erickson begins his first season as the Panthers' head coach. Erickson comes from Wayne State after serving as the head coach for two seasons. Erickson returns to the Missouri Valley Conference, coaching Creighton University from 1999-2014.
The Panthers finished third in the conference last season.
UNI will play two exhibition games at Western Illinois (Aug. 9) and at the University of Minnesota, Mankato (Aug. 15) before opening the season at Chicago State at 1 p.m. Aug. 20.
