Panthers Travel to Nebraska, South Dakota for Weekend Matches

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa -- The University of Northern Iowa women's soccer team (1-0-0) will travel to the Nebraska-Omaha Mavericks and South Dakota Coyotes for matches this weekend.

The Panthers will face off against the Mavericks of Nebraska-Omaha 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 25. The Panthers and Mavericks last meeting was Aug. 28, 2015, which saw a tie after double overtimes. Omaha leads the all-time series against the Panthers, 2-1-1

The Panthers continue the road trip, traveling to South Dakota 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 27. The Coyotes walked away with a 1-0 victory over the Panthers. The Panthers are looking for victory as South Dakota as won three of the last four meetings, including two back-to-back in Vermillion.

Last Time in Action

In Sunday's 5-0 shutout against Chicago State in the opening weekend of play, Hannah McDevitt was instrumental on the scoring side. McDevitt scored the final Panther goal in the 83rd-minute, after assisting Jordyn Rolli minutes prior. McDevitt's goal and assist bring her to four goals as a Panther and five assists.

Personal Bests
Senior Kelsey Hansen recorded a personal-best two assists in UNI's win. Hansen's assists came on the first and last goals of the game.

Winning on the Road
UNI secured their first road win since Sept. 16, 2016. The 2016 Panthers would only win 1 game on the road and have started the 2017 season with a road win.
