Football to Hold Open Practice April 15 in Dome

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – The University of Northern Iowa football program will hold an open practice Sat., April 15, in the UNI-Dome.
Doors will open at 10:45 a.m. with practice starting at 11 a.m. The Panthers will run through individual and team drills, also instituting an 11-on-11 scrimmage at the end.
UNI started spring training March 25 and will have a total of 15 practices between then and April 22. April 15 will be UNI's 12th practice of the 2017 spring season, highlighting over 50 letter winners from the 2016 season that have returned to the gridiron this year.
UNI returns eight starters on offense and nine on defense, giving UNI a mixture of energized youth and veteran experience. The Panthers will also see 21 redshirts from 2016 and 26 newcomers to the program this fall, giving UNI football fans plenty of talent to look out for.
Due to scheduling conflicts in the UNI-Dome with the Florida Georgia Line concert that is taking place Fri., April 21, the Panthers will not have a formal spring game.
