Friedman Earns State Farm MVC Good Neighbor Award

In an effort to honor the achievements of exceptional student-athletes, the Missouri Valley Conference has created the State Farm MVC Good Neighbor Award. Ten student-athletes, including University of Northern Iowa men's basketball student-athlete Ted Friedman, have been named by Commissioner Doug Elgin as the honorees for the 2016-17 Winter season.
This year's Winter honorees include Leti Lerma, Bradley, Women's Basketball; Caitlin Ingle, Drake, Women's Basketball; David Howard, Evansville, Men's Basketball; Kristyn Bossle, Illinois State, Gymnastics; Tierra Webb, Indiana State, Women's Basketball; Stephen Hubona, Loyola, Men's Indoor Track & Field; Brandon Weissman, Missouri State, Men's Swimming & Diving; Ted Friedman, UNI, Men's Basketball; Kylie Giebelhausen, Southern Illinois, Women's Basketball; Jaleesa Chapel, Wichita State, Women's Basketball.
In order to be eligible for the award, the student-athlete must be in good academic standing, must demonstrate good citizenship through good sportsmanship and significant community service, and must participate in a sport, during the season of recognition. The Valley will recognize 10 student-athletes three times annually (fall, winter, spring), for a total of 30 honorees. Institutions select their State Farm MVC Good Neighbor Award honorees.
