Lange Pitches Shutout, Leads UNI to 4-1

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa - The University of Northern Iowa's softball team (4-1) shut out Nebraska-Omaha (1-4), winning 4-0 Sunday afternoon to close out the UNI-Dome Classic.
Bailey Lange (2-1) was the winning pitcher as she was able to hold UNO scoreless.
Sammey Bunch scored UNI's first run in the second inning when she was brought in on a sacrifice bunt from Anna Varriano.
It wasn't until the fifth inning when the Panthers saw Brittney Krodinger reach home with assistance from a Brittney Roby double into right field. After a bunt from Courtney Krodinger, the Panthers expanded their lead to 3-0 once Jenny Kohl reached home plate.
Macey Wolfe was able to get Brittney Roby home toward the end of the fifth with a single into right field bringing the Panthers to its final 4-0 margin.
The Panthers ended the UNI-Dome Classic with a 4-1 overall record.
UNI will be on the road for its next games at the UNLV Tournament in Las Vegas, Nevada on Feb. 16-18.
