UNI GAME NOTES
CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – The University of Northern Iowa women's basketball team (2-5) travels west on Wednesday as the Panthers take on Nebraska Omaha (6-2) at 7 p.m. CT, to cap their six-game road swing.
Wednesday's game will mark the first meeting since 1982 between the Panthers and Mavericks. UNO leads the all-time series, 2-1.

NEED TO KNOW
- UNI caps its six-game road swing against Nebraska Omaha on Wednesday at 7 p.m. CT.
 - The Panthers will seek to snap its current three-game losing skid, before UNI returns home on Sunday to face Wisconsin-Parkside.
 - Wednesday's game will mark the first meeting between UNI and UNO since 1982.
 - This season, UNI has held five teams under 60 points.
 - Sophomore Megan Maahs has earned the most double-doubles (3) in the Missouri Valley Conference and is tied for 41st in the NCAA.
 - Maahs also tops the MVC in rebounds per game (11.0), while ranking 20th in the NCAA.
 - The sophomore's 8.0 defensive rebounds per game ranks first in the MVC and is 14th in the NCAA.

SERIES WITH NEBRASKA OMAHA
- UNI and UNO have met three times, with the Mavericks owning a slight 2-1 advantage.
 - The meeting will be this first between the two basketball programs since 1982.
 
SCOUTING THE MAVERICKS
- UNO finished last season with a 16-15 mark and 8-8 in league play.
 - So far this season, the Mavericks are 6-2 and are riding a six-game winning streak.
 - UNO began the season with losses to Bradley and Kansas State on the road before reeling off six-straight wins.
 - The Mavericks have three players averaging double figures, with UNO scoring 71.0 a game.
 - Junior guard Jess Walter leads the Mavericks with 16.8 points per game.
 - Fellow junior guard Ellie Brecht is UNO's sharpshooter from beyond-the-arc, draining 28-of-65 3-pointers to average 13.5 points per contest.
 
DEFENDERS OF WARREN
- UNI is 134-20 under the direction of head coach Tanya Warren when holding an opponent to 60 points or less.
 - Five of UNI's top-10 scoring defense averages in school history have come during the Warren era, while the Panthers ranked second in the Valley last season after holding opponents to 58.3 points per game.
 - UNI was 19-0 in 2016-17 when holding foes to 60 points or less, so far this season the Panthers are 2-3.
 
PANTHER SHARP SHOOTERS
- UNI has knocked down 42-of-147 (28.6%) from 3-point land this season.
 - The Panthers are averaging 6.0 made 3-pointers a game.
 - Last season, the Panthers shot 250-848 (29.5%) from beyond the arc to average 7.6 made 3-pointers a game.
 - Kennedy Kirkpatrick leads UNI with the most made 3-pointers on the team this season, knocking down eight shots from beyond-the-arc.
 
UNI CONTROLS THE GLASS
- This season, the Panthers rank third in the MVC with 3.1 rebounding margin over opponents.
 - UNI has out rebounded five foes this season, with the highest margin of 18 coming against Wyoming earlier in November.
 - The Panthers are averaging 40.7 rebounds per contest, which ranks second in the MVC.
 
DOUBLE TROUBLE
- Sophomore Megan Maahs turned in quite the performance to open the season, as she averages 10.4 points and 11.0 rebounds per game for the Panthers.
 - Maahs has earned three double-doubles this season, which is tied for 41st in the NCAA.
 - For her career, Maahs has earned four double-doubles as a Panther. The sophomore has earned the last four double-doubles for UNI.
 - The sophomore is 14th in the nation for her 7.9 defensive rebounds per game, while ranking 20th in the NCAA for total rebounds per contest with 11.0.
 - In the MVC, Maahs tops the league this season in rebounds per game (11.0), defensive rebounds per game (7.9.) and most double-doubles (3).
 
KIRKPATRICK LOGS CAREER-HIGHS
- Kennedy Kirkpatrick has scored in double-digits in five games this season.
 - The senior scored 21 against North Dakota in a losing effort, setting her latest career-high for points this season.
 - Kirkpatrick set previous career-highs in back-to-back games after scoring 15 in the season-opener and then 17 as a follow-up against Iowa State.
 - Against Creighton, Kirkpatrick set a career-high for assists after dishing out nine.
