STATS FCS ALL-AMERICANS
CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – The STATS FCS All-America teams were announced on Tuesday, with the senior pair of Elijah Campbell and Jared Farley each earning second team honors on the defensive side of the ball.
The All-American distinctions are the fourth for Campbell and Farley this season, with the duo earning AP, College Sports Madness and Phil Steele laurels earlier this month. The two selections for the STATS FCS All-America honors are the most for UNI since 2015's four.
Campbell earned 51 tackles, five interceptions, two forced fumbles and 12 pass breakups in 2017. The 12 pass breakups are tied for ninth-most in a season at UNI. Earlier this season, the senior earned All-MVFC First Team honors. For his career at UNI, Campbell earned 93 tackles, while picking off eight passes and taking two for touchdowns.
Farley earned a team-high 122 tackles this past season, while scooping up two fumbles with one going the distance for a touchdown. Farley became the first Div. I linebacker since 1996 to score a touchdown on defense, receiving and rushing in one season.
Farley collected All-MVFC First Team honors earlier this season, while also earning MVFC All-Academic Team Honorable Mention. For his storied career, Farley earned 313 total tackles, which ranks eighth-most all-time at UNI.
