Five Panthers Receive All-MVC Honors

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Five members of the University of Northern Iowa women's soccer team have received All-MVC honors, as announced by the conference.Â
Junior forward Brynell Yount was named to the All-MVC First Team. Yount set the UNI single-season goals scored record with a pair of goals in the Panthers 2-0 win over Indiana State. Yount has accumulated nine goals this season, besting the previous mark of eight goals by Chelsie Hochstedler (2008) and Jane Masteller (2001). Young also set the single-season points record with 20. The previous record was held by Masteller with 18 in 2001. Yount is fourth on all-time goals for UNI with 12.

Junior midfielder Hannah McDevitt was named to the All-MVC Second Team. McDevitt had one goal and two assists for a total of four points in 2017. McDevitt was a member of the 2016 All-MVC Second Team.
Senior defender Marianne Gagne was named to the All-MVCÂ Second Team. Gagne appeared in 17 matches for UNI this season, with five shots on the season. Throughout her career as a Panther, Gagne has scored six goals and started in 34 games for the Panthers.

Junior goalkeeper Jami Reichenberger was named to the All-MVC Second Team. Reichenberger has started as goal for all of UNI's 18 matches, with a 0.71 goals against average. Reichenberger touts a save percentage of .806 and a school record 10 shutouts this season. Reichenberger ties the MVC record of 10 shutouts with the 2003 season.

Senior forward Sarah Brandt was named to the All-MVC Honorable Mention Team. Brandt has started all 18 games and has 6 goals and 7 assists this season. Brandt has four game-winning goals this season. Brandt is No. 3 on the all-time goals list for UNI with 15.
UNI, along with Loyola and Evansville, received the Valley's Fair Play Award. It is awarded to the Valley squad(s) that have the fewest penalty cards during all MVC matches.
UNI, which enters the tournament as the No. 4 seed, takes on No. 1 Drake in the conference semifinals 3:30 p.m. CT Friday.
