CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – UNI wrestling has planned a clinic to help a toddler battling cancer.
On Nov. 19, wrestlers eighth grade and younger can learn from UNI coaches and former wrestling greats at the Panther Train Pins Cancer Clinic. All the proceeds benefit Evie Mae Mueller.
Evie is a 3-year-old girl battling heptablastoma, which is a rare form of liver cancer. She has undergone multiple organ transplants and surgeries.
The event will take place in the West Gym in Cedar Falls, with check in starting at 11 a.m. The cancer clinic will last from 11:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. For $25, youths will receive a T-shirt, a meal and entry to the dual meet against NDSU at 2 p.m. that day. Parents must purchase their tickets prior to the day of the clinic if they are attending the NDSU meet.
The clinicians consist of the UNI coaching staff and former UNI All-Americans Cruse Aarhus, Alex Dolly and Joey Lazor.
Tickets for parents and guardians can be purchased online at UNIPanthers.com/tickets or by calling (319) 273-4849. Forms are available online to pre-register for children attending the clinic. Email the child's name and shirt size to richardr@uni.edu
