Panthers Earn Program's 19th FCS Playoff Berth

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa. – After winning five out of its last six games down the stretch, 20th-ranked Northern Iowa (7-4) was rewarded with the program's 19th playoff berth as the Panthers will welcome Monmouth (9-2) for the opening round of the FCS Playoffs.
The Panthers and Hawks will kickoff the first-round contest on Saturday, Nov. 25 at 4 p.m. CT from the UNI-Dome. The game will be broadcast on ESPN3.
Season-ticket holders can purchase tickets for Saturday's game beginning at 6 p.m. CT Sunday online and at the McLeod Ticket Office beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Monday morning. Sales for non-season ticket holders will begin at 10:00 a.m. Monday. The deadline for season-ticket holders to reserve a seat will be Wednesday, Nov. 22 at noon.
Tickets purchased online will be $24, while those picked up at the McLeod Ticket Office will be $20. Students will be allowed free accessed after scanning their ID at the door.
"When I saw the players this morning, they were so excited to be in," head coach Mark Farley said on the playoff selection. "We have a phenomenal group of guys and it's noticeable how great their relationships are with one another after seeing it down the stretch this season. It's a great time to be a Panther and hopefully we can keep playing football for a while."
UNI has never faced MU on the gridiron, while the playoff appearance for the Hawks is their first in school history. MU earned a 9-2 record on the season and a 4-1 record overall in the Big South.

ADDITIONAL NOTES
- UNI returns to the FCS Playoffs for the 19th time in program history and 10th time under head coach Mark Farley.
- UNI has won at least one playoff game in 14 of its previous 18 appearances, including a playoff win in 10 of its last 11 appearances.
- The Panthers won five out of their last six games to close out the regular season.
- UNI's last home playoff game came against Eastern Illinois on Nov. 28, 2015. The Panthers won convincingly, 53-17.
- UNI's 2015 playoff run was cut short by North Dakota State in the quarterfinals after the Panthers fell to the Bison, 23-13.
- UNI's potential opponent for the second round of the FCS Playoffs will be South Dakota State. The Panthers beat the Jackrabbits in Brookings 38-18 on Oct. 14.
