UNI Softball Adds 7 During Fall Signing Period

University of Northern Iowa head softball coach Ryan Jacobs has added seven players during the Fall 2017 signing period.
Hannah Isley – Infielder (Albia, Iowa/Albia High School)
Isley led the Albia Blue Demons to a second place finish at the 2017 softball state tournament. She played second base for head coach Larry Achenbach and batted .466 in 2017. She posted first-team all-state honors in 2017. She earned third-team all-state accolades in 2016.. She was named second-team all-conference in 2017 in basketball after taking home first-team all-league honors in 2016. She is a three-time state placer in the high jump (8th – 2015; 3rd – 2016; 8th – 2017). She is the daughter of Jo and David Isley. Her brother, Carter, is a member of the UNI wrestling team.
Ally Johnson – Infielder (Marion, Iowa/Linn-Mar High School)
Johnson was a five-year starter in the infield for Linn Mar High. She was a three-time all-conference and all-metro selection from 2015-2017 while leading her team in runs scored and hits. Johnson and the Lions placed eighth in the 2015 Class 5A state tournament. Johnson was also a three-year starter in basketball as a point guard. She has had academic honors all four years at Linn-Mar. Johnson helped pace her team to a state tournament appearance in softball (2015) and basketball during the year of (2015-2016). She is the daughter of Randy and Chris Johnson.
Hannah Kelley – Pitcher (Davenport, Iowa/Davenport Assumption High School)
Kelley earned first-team all-state honors and was named the Mississippi Athletic Conference player of the year in 2017. She batted .408 with 58 RBI and went 19-1 with a 0.41 earned run average as Davenport Assumption won the Class 3A state championship in 2017. Kelley secured first-team all-conference and all-district accolades in 2015, 2016 and 2017. Kelley and the Knights earned a state tournament runner-up finish in 2016. She is a member of National Honor Society. She is the daughter of Paul and Deanna Kelley.
Hannah Loving – Catcher (Sioux Falls, S.D./O'Gorman High School)
Loving was a member of the South Dakota Renegades club softball squad that won four straight state championships (2014, 2015, 2016, 2017). At O'Gorman High School, she helped her squad win the 2017 South Dakota state championship despite battling mono throughout her senior season. Loving's club team earned an invitational to play against Team USA's Junior Women's softball team. In 2016, the Renegades were national runners up at the PGF Premier Nationals. Loving earned first-team all-state state honors in 2016 and second-team all-state status in 2015. Loving batted .600 in the 2016 state tournament to earn all-tournament team honors. She is a member of National Honor Society and student council. She is the daughter of Lisa and Phil Loving.
Erica Oler – Pitcher (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/C.R. Jefferson High School)
Oler was named a first-team all-conference pitcher in 2017. She earned first-team all-metro and second-team all-state honors as a junior at Cedar Rapids Jefferson High School. In 2016, Oler also earned first-team all-conference honors, while taking home second-team all-metro accolades. She is a member of National Honor Society. She has posted a cumulative grade point average of 4.361.
Kamryn Shaffer – Utilty/Infielder (Ottawa, Kansas/Ottawa High School)
Shaffer batted .459 with a .500 on-base percentage and 22 runs batted in this past season. She earned first-team all-league honors in 2017. She is a three-time all-area honoree. Shaffer also starred in volleyball and basketball at Ottawa High School. Shaffer was tabbed a first-team all-conference performer in both volleyball and basketball in 2017. She earned honorable mention all-state honors in basketball.
Hannah Wislander – First Base (Davenport, Iowa/Davenport Assumption High School)
Wislander garnered second-team all-state honors at Davenport Assumption High School. She earned first-team all-conference and first-team all-metro status, while also being tabbed an academic all-conference honoree. Wislander batted .554 with a .744 slugging percentage in helping lead Davenport Assumption to a state championship as a junior. In basketball, she averaged 7.4 points and 8.0 rebounds per game for the Knights. She is the daughter of Alyssa and Pete Wislander.
