No. 24 UNI Caps Regular Season Against Indiana State

UNI GAME NOTES
CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – Winners of four out of its last five games, 24th-ranked Northern Iowa (6-4, 5-2 MVFC) hosts Indiana State (0-10, 0-7 MVFC) for Senior Day on Saturday, Nov. 18 to cap the regular season.
The Panthers and Sycamores will kick off from the UNI-Dome at 4 p.m. CT. UNI owns a 26-5 record against MSU, with the Panthers taking the last two contests.

NEED TO KNOW
- After winning four out of their last five games, the Panthers look to cap the regular-season on a high not as UNI hosts winless Indiana State on Saturday, Nov. 18 at 4 p.m. CT.
- UNI has won the last two meetings against ISU, with head coach Mark Farley owning a 12-2 record against the Sycamores.
- For the month of November, head coach Mark Farley is an impressive 51-9 over his 17 seasons at UNI. The Panthers are 2-0 so far this season, with recent wins over No. 6 South Dakota and Missouri State.
- Last time out, the Panthers handled Missouri State on the road 25-10.
- UNI rushed for 185 yards on the ground, with Marcus Weymiller earning 131 yards and a touchdown.
- In relief duty, Colton Howell threw for 129 yards on 12-of-20 passing after stepping in for an injured Eli Dunne at quarterback.
SALUTE TO THE SENIORS
- UNI will have 15 seniors honored on Saturday, with team captains Jared Farley, Daurice Fountain, Adam Reth and Preston Woods highlighting the class.
- Keelon Brookins, J'Veyon Browning, Elijah Campbell, Lee Carhart, Bryce Douglas, Rashadeem Gray, Xavier James, Sam Kuhter, Tyrell Lyons, Reggie Schulte, Bryce Sweeney and Malcolm Washington will also be honored on Saturday for Senior Day.
- This senior class has won 29 games overall, with 13 of those coming against ranked foes.
LAST TIME AGAINST THE SYCAMORES
- UNI was down to its third-string quarterback last time the Panthers played the Sycamores
- Colton Howell took over at quarterback and threw for 112 yards on 8-of-21 passing, while Marcus Weymiller had a breakout game on the ground with a career-high 171 yards rushing.
- Most of Weymiller's rushes against ISU came from the "Wildcat" as the Panthers stuck to the rushing attack to gain a total of 307 yards as a team.
- The game was never close as UNI put it out of reach early to win 39-6 on the road.
SERIES WITH INDIANA STATE
- UNI owns Indiana State on the gridiron, with a 26-5 record against the Sycamores overall.
- The Panthers have won the last two contests, while going 12-2 against the Sycamores under head coach Mark Farley.
- UNI has outscored ISU 98-19 in the last two games.
SCOUTING THE SYCAMORES
- The Sycamores enter Saturday's contest on a 14-game losing streak.
- This year Indiana State is 0-10 and hasn't won a game since last season's win over Southern Illinois on Oct. 22, 2016.
- ISU came close to snapping its losing streak against No. 19 Liberty on Sept. 16, but fell 42-41. The closest margin since that game was a 24-13 loss at No. 8 Illinois State on Sept. 30.
- Running back LeMonte Booker has led the Sycamores on the ground this season, gaining 895 yards on 180 attempts and five touchdowns.
UNI AGAINST THE MVFC
- The Panthers are 158-62 against the Missouri Valley Football Conference, with UNI going 87-40 during the Farley era.
- Over his 17 seasons at UNI, head coach Mark Farley has amassed a 51-9 mark in November.
- Farley has gone undefeated during November nine times (2001, 2004, 2005, 2007, 2008, 2011, 2012, 2014, 2015) while having a losing record once during the month (2002).
- This season, the Panthers began November with a bang after upsetting No. 6 South Dakota to kick off this month's play.
CLUTCH CATS
- This season, the Panthers have been extremely efficient in the red zone with UNI scoring on 30 out of 32 attempts. UNI ranks second in the FCS for red zone offense and tops the MVFC.
- UNI has earned the majority of its red zone scores through the air, with 14 passing TDs inside the 20. That total is tied for 11th in the FCS.
LOSSES LOOKING BETTER FOR UNI
- The Panthers have lost to Iowa State, Southern Utah, Western Illinois and North Dakota State this season, those four foes have a combined record of 30-10.
- ISU and SUU have both knocked off top-10 foes this season, with the Cyclones beating No. 3 Oklahoma and No. 4 TCU and the Thunderbirds upsetting No. 8 Eastern Washington. NDSU leads the MVFC with a 9-1 record.
BROOKINS' BREAKOUT
- Redshirt senior and Wisconsin transfer Keelon Brookins has made an impact for the Panthers over the last few weeks. The defensive back/linebacker hybrid has earned 25 tackles, 3.0 sacks, four pass breakups and one huge interception return for a touchdown.
- The interception return for a score helped vault the Panthers past No. 6 South Dakota 34-29 as Brookins was rewarded with the MVFC Defensive and Newcomer Player of the Week honors.
WEYMILLER'S COMEBACK
- Over the last five weeks, Marcus Weymiller has earned 571 yards rushing on 141 carries and six touchdowns. Weymiller had not run the ball this season before the SDSU game.
- The 42 carries for Weymiller against the Jackrabbits rank as the most by any FCS player this season.
- Weymiller is the first Panther back since David Johnson to earn at least two 170-yard rushing performances for his career. The back-to-back 100-yard rushing games for Weymiller are the first for a Panther since Aaron Bailey in 2015.
FOUNTAIN LEAPS INTO RECORD BOOKS
- Senior Daurice Fountain has put up monster numbers in his final season at UNI. The 6-foot-1 receiver has hauled in seven touchdowns this season, with 696 yards receiving.
- This season, Fountain has earned three 100-yard receiving games (all in consecutive weeks).
- The senior has 132 catches as a Panther, which ranks eighth all-time, while his 18 career touchdowns are tied for eighth all-time at UNI.
UNI MOVES TO NO. 24 IN STATS FCS POLL
- After coming in at No. 25 last week, the Panthers moved up a spot in the STATS FCS Top 25 to continue UNI's steady climb.
- Despite winning four out of their last five, the Panthers remained outside of the FCS Coaches Poll Top 25 this week. UNI is receiving the most votes outside of the Top 25 with 60.
- The Panthers have defeated two teams from this week's FCS Coaches rankings, No. 6 South Dakota State (No. 7 on Oct. 9) and No. 16 South Dakota (No. 6 on Nov. 4).
