UNI Swimming and Diving Ready for Iowa/Michigan State

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa--The University of Northern Iowa swimming and diving teams looks to open the 2017-18 season at Iowa.
The Panthers will take on Iowa and Michigan State at 10 a.m. on Oct. 6.
Katie Taylor, the 2016 MVC Freshman of the Year, returns to the pool for the Panthers, along with first-team All-MVC members Hannah Brummel, Crystal Florman and Molly Lembezeder. Lembezeder is the two-time defending champion in the 50 and 100 freestyles, as well as record-breaking relays. Taylor ended her MVC debut with three NCAA B cuts, five individual records, and three MVC individual records. Florman received a NCAA B cut in the 100 butterfly and helped to reset UNI and MVC records at conference.
Brummel received third place in the 1-Meter diving competition at the MVC championships last season.
UNI returns a mix of starters and youth to the team, including 12 freshmen.
Last Time Against Iowa and Michigan State
The last time the Panthers faced off against Iowa and Michigan State was in the 2015-16 season.
The Panthers met the Iowa a year ago, with the Iowa victorious, 73-147.
