Homecoming Letter to Fans From David Harris
10/3/2017 2:20:00 PM | General
Panther Family,
We are approaching one of the highlights of our athletics year with Homecoming this week. I'd like to welcome all of our alumni back to campus for this week's activities. Homecoming is a special time when our alumni return to the place that has been the source of so many cherished memories.
There are plenty of events surrounding Homecoming week – please check them out and enjoy your time back on the UNI campus - https://homecoming.uni.edu/.
We have had an exciting start to the year as both soccer and volleyball have enjoyed tremendous beginnings. Our soccer team earned its first regional ranking in program history while enjoying a 10-1-1 start to the 2017 season. Our volleyball squad has knocked off four nationally-ranked opponents including No. 10 Nebraska for the first time in school history. Head coach Bobbi Petersen and the Panthers are 14-4 overall and ranked No. 21 in the nation. The UNI football squad is currently 2-2 after a 24-17 victory over Southern Illinois in Carbondale, Illinois last Saturday night. We are looking forward to a big turnout this Saturday in the UNI-Dome, so please come out and support our Panthers in the Homecoming football game against Western Illinois at 4 p.m.
As you head to the UNI-Dome on Saturday, we hope you are able to take in a few of the new options we are offering to enhance our game day experience:
As we continue to enhance the fan experience, we look forward to hearing your feedback as you take in our sporting events throughout the year. If you have ideas or just want to pass along your thoughts about how your experience was at an event, please email me at uniad@uni.edu.
Go Panthers!

As you head to the UNI-Dome on Saturday, we hope you are able to take in a few of the new options we are offering to enhance our game day experience:
- We will be offering a Kids Zone that will be located on the McLeod Center's north concourse. This will give our younger fans the opportunity to use up some energy and move around during the game. The Kids Zone will feature several activities for our young Panthers, including inflatables. The Kids Zone will open 30 minutes before kickoff and will close at the end of the third quarter. Additional details will be posted on the UNI athletics website and social media accounts later this week.
- As a part of the Kids Zone activities, our beloved mascots TC and TK will be available to take pictures with children throughout the game.
- We have instituted a game day texting service should you have any questions or concerns during your time inside the UNI-Dome. Simply text your question to 319-273-4849, and a UNI Athletics representative will respond to your question, or come to your location and assist you if necessary.
- We will also offer a premium portable restroom for our fans during the game. This restroom will be located outside the southwest entrance for your convenience. We think this will be a welcome addition to help alleviate the long lines in the Dome and supplement the restrooms that are available in the McLeod Center.
- For mothers with infants, we will begin offering a lactation/nursing room located between sections Q and R on the west concourse.
As we continue to enhance the fan experience, we look forward to hearing your feedback as you take in our sporting events throughout the year. If you have ideas or just want to pass along your thoughts about how your experience was at an event, please email me at uniad@uni.edu.
