Panthers Look to Secure First Conference Road Win

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa--The University of Northern Iowa women's soccer team looks to secure their first conference road win this Saturday, taking on Valparaiso on Sun., Oct. 15 at 5:30 p.m.

The Valparaiso Crusaders (8-6, 2-1 MVC) enter their first season with the Missouri Valley Conference. The Panthers and Crusaders last met in 2007, with the Crusaders winning in overtime 1-0.

The Panthers (10-3-1, 2-2 MVC) have dropped back-to-back matches at Missouri State and Drake leading up to their match-up with Valparaiso. UNI has outscored its opponents this year, 25-9, led by seven goals from Brynell Yount and six goals and five assists from Sarah Brandt. Jamie Reichenberger has played every second in goal and owns eight clean sheets.

The Panthers have 72 points this season and the Crusaders are close behind with 70 points. In the preseason poll, UNI and Valparaiso were chosen to finish in a tie for fifth as voted on by league head coaches.
