CEDAR FALLS, Iowa - The UNI women's soccer team is expanding its roster for the 2017 season by bringing in two athletes hoping to make the team stronger than ever. With a lot of experience behind them, Maddy Germann and Jami Reichenberger are being welcomed to the Panther family this year.
"I am excited to add two players with experience to our program," interim head coach Jeremy Clevenger said. "It is always nice when you can add great people who are also great soccer players to your program."
Germann, originally from Aurora, Colo., is coming to UNI from Murray State where she started as a freshman and has played more than 1,000 minutes. Germann went to Grandview High School where in 2015, her soccer team was named the No. 1 team in the nation, according to Max Preps. She has two state championships under her belt as well as a being ranked No. 8 in the nation for her club team.
Reichenberger is joining the UNI Soccer team as a junior from Bulter Community College. Jami was an all-region, first-team all-city and second-team all-state selection her sophomore year in high school. In her junior and senior years, she was selected as a first-team all-city, all-metro and all-state honoree, leading her team to take third at the 5A state tournament.
"I think they fit in well with our current team and will definitely make our roster stronger," Clevenger said. "Jamie and Maddy were both very successful at their previous schools. I am looking forward to the contribution they will provide to this program."
