UNI Remains Unbeaten at Home, Defeats Midland, 6-1

WATERLOO, Iowa - The University of Northern Iowa women's soccer team rolled out another dominating performance at home Wednesday night by defeating the Midland Warriors, 6-1.
The Panthers continued scoring goals early this season with Sarah Brandt netting two goals in the first five minutes of the match, the second on a Hannah McDevitt assist. Amber Nieland increased the lead to three on a curling strike that found its way to into the top left corner in the 32nd minute.
Midland would pull back a goal only to see Jamie Althiser score two goals in the last three minutes of the first half, the latter with only two seconds remaining on the clock. Althiser completed the hat trick in the 66th minute. She was the recipient of great service, receiving assists from Marianne Gagne, Camille Dela Cruz and Claire Netten, respectively.
The Panthers remain unbeaten at home this season, outscoring opponents 13-3 in their first three home contests.
Next up, the team heads to Charleston, Ill., for a matchup with Eastern Illinois on Sept. 11. Kickoff is set for 12 p.m., and live stats will be available via Eastern Illinois Athletics.
