Norem Named MVC Cross Country Athlete of the Week

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Junior cross country standout Ashley Norem has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Female Cross Country Athlete of the Week, it was announced today.

For the second consecutive meet, Norem led the Panthers to a top-three finish as a team. The Panther women placed second overall at the Badger Classic, with Norem placing fourth, her highest finish as a Panther.

The junior from Urbandale, Iowa, has notched two top-10 finishes this season. She ran a time of 21:59.60 at the Badger Classic in the women's 6K, the second-fastest time of her career and it was the fastest time by a Valley competitor at the meet. Her time of 21:59.60 was also the fastest time run in the 6K in the MVC coming into the weekend.

Norem and the Panthers return to action this Friday when they compete at the Joe Piane Notre Dame Invitational. The meet is set to start at 1 p.m. CT.
