UNI Notches Six Top-10 Finishes At Badger Classic

RESULTS
MADISON, Wis. – The University of Northern Iowa cross country program posted six top-10 finishes today at the Badger Classic, ending a strong competition for both the men's and women's teams in the 6K.
For the second place finishing Panther women, Ashley Norem led the way for the second consecutive meet, placing fourth overall with a time of 21:59.60. Her time of 21:59.60 is the second-fastest time in the women's 6,000 meters in her career.
True freshman Hannah Truniger placed in the top-10 for the second time this season, coming in with a time of 22:06.30, ranking her No. 13 all-time at UNI.
Finishing right behind Truniger were a pair of Panthers in Kelsey Kirchoff and Brette Correy, rounding out the top-10. Kirchoff placed seventh with a time of 22:13.10 with Correy coming in eighth with a personal-best time of 22:20.90.
The men, who placed third overall, were led by junior Bailey Wetherell. The Iowa City, Iowa native crossed the finish line in sixth place overall, recording a time of 19:08.70.
Also scoring a top-10 finish was sophomore Jacob Day who placed 10th overall with a time of 19:19.50. Senior Dylan Eigenberger came in 14th overall with a time of 19:28.60 with true freshman CJ May coming in with another strong performance in 17th (19:35).
UNI will return to action on Sept. 30 when they travel to South Bend, Ind. to compete in the Joe Piane Notre Dame Invitational. The races are set to start at 1 p.m.
