UNI Notches 3-0 Victory Over Syracuse

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa - The University of Northern Iowa volleyball team captured a 3-0 sweep of the Syracuse Orange on Saturday night in the UNI Tournament held in the McLeod Center.
UNI (8-5 overall) won the match by scores of 25-16, 25-18, 25-18. Syracuse drops to 1-9 on the year.
Senior Kayla Haneline paced the Panther attack with 15 kills (.407 hitting percentage), six digs and three blocks. Senior Amie Held and sophomore Bri Weber posted double-doubles to boost the Panthers to their second straight win of the tournament. Held earned her team-leading seventh double-double with 11 kills and 11 digs. Weber secured her sixth double-double on the year with 11 kills and 11 digs. Junior setter Heather Hook continued her strong play with 41 assists, eight digs, three kills and a block.
UNI and North Dakota State will finish off the UNI Tournament on Sunday as the Panthers and Bison meet at 2:30 p.m. in the McLeod Center.
