Panthers Set to Open Season With Exhibition Against Iowa

The University of Northern Iowa women's soccer team will travel to Iowa City this Fri. Aug. 12, to take on the Iowa Hawkeyes at 7 p.m.
The Panthers, led by new head coach Chris Logan will look to jump start the new era of UNI soccer with a positive first step. Logan, a native of Stoke-on-Trent, England, is the fifth head coach of the women soccer program since its inception in 2000.Â
He has enjoyed previous stops at North Dakota and Pittsburgh as an assistant, propelling him to this opportunity with the Panthers. Â Through his experience on campus, it was clear this was the place for him.
 "The passion and pride of being a part of the UNI community was evident throughout the time I spent on campus and I am extremely excited at the prospect of being a part of such an incredible environment," Logan said.
Welcoming Logan will be a team full of veteran savvy, with seven returning starters joining him from a year ago. The combination of veteran talent and new influx of coaching ideas will look to improve this budding program.
