FB: UNI Earns 39 Spots On MVFC Honor Roll

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The University of Northern Iowa football program secured 39 spots on the Missouri Valley Football Conference Honor Roll, it was announced today. Highlighting UNI's academic success was the Panthers having four student-athletes earn the President's Council Academic Excellence Award, the highest academic recognition in the Valley.
UNI's four President' Council Academic Excellence Award winners, Isaac Ales, Jacob Rathmacher, Robert Rathje and Karter Schult, were among 23 student-athletes from the MVFC to be recognized at the highest level. The award requires a minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA, participation in athletics a minimum of two years and the student-athlete must be within 18 hours of graduation.
UNI also had 15 who were awarded the Commissioner's Academic Excellence Award along with the 39 spots on the Honor Roll. To receive the Commissioner's Academic Excellence Award, the athlete must have a 3.2 GPA for the previous two semesters (freshmen are not eligible). For the Honor Roll, a student-athlete must have recorded a minimum 3.0 GPA for the fall of 2015, must be a member of the football team and must have a minimum of 12 hours of enrollment during the fall.
