UNI Wrestling Signs 2 for 2016-17 Season

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – UNI wrestling has signed two Iowa standouts for the 2016-17 season.
Justin Guilliams and Brandon Haas will be on the Panther roster next year.
GUILLIAMS
Guilliams is from Clinton, Iowa. He took fourth at 195 pounds at the 2016 Iowa High School Wrestling State Championships.
He was undefeated in duals this year and went 50-4 on the season. He finished with a 146-35 varsity record. Guilliams earned all-conference first-team honors. Guilliams was the team captain for two years. He set a record for the most wins in a single season and most team points in a season. He tied for the most falls in a season and was named Most Valuable Wrestler following the 2016 season.
In addition to wrestling, Guilliams competed in football and ran hurdles in track.
Guilliams is the son of Todd and Jodie Guilliams and has a brother, Kyle. Justin enjoys the river, fishing and hunting. He volunteers with his grandmother's church.
HAAS
Haas is from Dubuque, Iowa. He took third at 170 pounds at the 2016 Iowa High School Wrestling State Championships.
He is a three-time state qualifier and was a team captain for three years. He took third place at the Cadet Greco Nationals and second place at Preseason Nationals. Haas earned a spot on the all-conference first team all four years and had 50 career falls while competing for Dubuque Hempstead.
Haas was part of the National Honor Society and was named to the academic All-Mississippi Valley Conference team.
Haas is the son of Charles and Kim Haas. He has two older brothers, Brock and Brett. He volunteers with local youth wrestling clubs and plans to major in business at UNI.
Guilliams and Haas will be joined by Iowa Central Community College transfer Tyler Hoffman, No. 7 Carter Isley and No. 4 Rudy Yates.
