CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – University of Northern Iowa head men's basketball coach Ben Jacobson announced that sophomore guard Robert Knar will be transferring from the Panther program at the end of this semester.
"We appreciate all of Rob's hard work and dedication to Panther basketball," Jacobson said. "He is transferring to put himself in position to expand his playing role. Rob leaves our program in great standing and we wish him the very best."
Knar (Mundelein, Ill./Mundelein HS) played in 12 games this past season, a year in which the Panthers won the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
Knar saw action in 24 career games as a Panther. He scored a career-high six points in UNI's 97-51 win at North Dakota (Nov. 30, 2015). Knar redshirted in the 2013-14 season.
