Bailey Named Player of the Week by MVC

University of Northern Iowa infielder Kennedy Bailey has been named Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week as announced by the conference on Monday.

Bailey (Delta BC, Canada) was instrumental in helping the Panthers go 3-1 in play last week, hitting four home runs in the Panthers' three-game sweep of Loyola over the weekend. The sophomore had 10 RBIs over the four game stretch including three multi-RBI performances while racking up a 1.700 slugging percentage. Against Iowa on Tuesday, Bailey drove in two runs in the sixth inning to cut the deficit down to three. In the series opener against Loyola, Bailey went 2-2 at the plate with a walk, hitting two home runs while adding three RBI. Her third home run of the day occurred in game two of the doubleheader, a grand slam that put UNI up 8-0 in an eventual 12-0 win over the Ramblers.

Bailey and the Panthers will continue MVC play on Tuesday when they host Drake for a doubleheader beginning at 4 p.m.
