UNI has posted a record of 20-19 all-time in the MVC Tournament.
   UNI has captured four MVC Tournament titles since joining the league in the 1991-92 season. UNI won the MVC Tournament in 2004, 2009, 2010 and 2015.
   The Panthers have reached the MVC tournament championship on five occasions. The Panthers reached the final game in 1994 (lost to Southern Illinois), 2004 (beat Missouri State), 2009 (beat Illinois State), 2010 (beat Wichita State) and 2015 (beat Illinois State).
BACK TO BACK TITLES
UNI is looking to become the seventh league team to win back-to-back MVC Tournament titles. Creighton was the last MVC school to win back-to-back titles in 2012 and 2013.

UNI head coach Ben Jacobson has posted an 11-6 mark in the MVC Tournament since taking over the head job in the 2006-07 season.
   Jacobson is tied for sixth in league history with 11 tournament wins with Nolan Richardson (Tulsa) and Jim Molinari (Bradley). Wichita State's Gregg Marshall ranks fifth in tourney history with 12 victories.

UNI head coach Ben Jacobson's teams average 60.2 points a contest in St. Louis while holding opponents to 55.4 points a game.Â
   The Panthers have scored more than 70 points three times (73 vs. Indiana State in 2009; 76 vs. Bradley in 2009; 71 vs. Bradley in 2015) in St. Louis.Â
   The Panthers have allowed more than 70 points once (73 vs. Illinois State in 2013) in that span.

ALL-MVC HONORS
Three members of the University of Northern Iowa men's basketball team have been named to the All-Missouri Valley Conference team.
   Senior Wes Washpun (Cedar Rapids, Iowa) earned second-team all-MVC honors after leading the Panthers in scoring (14.1) and assists (5.4). Washpun ranks second in the MVC in assists per game and needs seven more assists to tie the UNI single-season record for assists.Â
   Senior Matt Bohannon (Cedar Rapids, Iowa) and junior Jeremy Morgan (Coralville, Iowa) earned honorable mention all-MVC status.   Â
   Bohannon leads the MVC in three-pointers made (90) and ranks second on the Panthers in scoring (12.2). Bohannon needs six more made three-pointers to tie the UNI single-season record. Bohannon made three or more three-pointers in 20 games this season.
   Morgan is the only player in the league to lead his team in rebounding (165), steals (65) and blocks (25). Morgan ranks fourth on the Panther squad in scoring (10.4). He leads the MVC in steals per game (2.0). He ranks fifth in the MVC in field goal percentage (.480).Â

Sophomore forward Klint Carlson (Waverly, Iowa) was named to the MVC's All-Bench team as selected by the league's beat writers. Â Â Â
   Carlson came off the bench in all 29 of his appearances in the 2015-16 season. Carlson averaged 6.5 points per game with eight double-figure scoring contests. Carlson scored a career-high 15 points at North Dakota (Nov. 28). Carlson scored 12 points on two occasions in MVC play (vs. Bradley, at Wichita State).

KOCH EARNS MOST-IMPROVED NOD
Sophomore center Bennett Koch (Ashwaubenon, Wis.) earned a spot on the MVC's Most-Improved Team as chosen by the league's beat writers.
   Koch started all 32 games, while averaging 8.1 points and 3.6 rebounds. His combined scoring (+6.8) and rebounding (+3.0) improvement ranks second in the league to Bradley's Donte Thomas. Koch ranks third in the MVC in field goal percentage (.511). He notched his first career double-double with 22 points and 11 rebounds in a 67-58 win over Southern Illinois (Jan. 31). Koch upped his scoring average to 9.9 points per game in MVC games. Koch tallied 10 double-figure scoring games.

THREE EARN SCHOLAR-ATHLETE HONORS
UNI had three players honored on the MVC's Scholar-Athlete team.
   Junior Jeremy Morgan (Coralville, Iowa) earned first-team Scholar-Athlete honors after having posted a cumulative 3.21 GPA while majoring in management: business administration. Morgan has started all 32 games. He is the only player in the league to lead his team in rebounds (165), steals (65) and blocks (25). He ranks fifth in the MVC in field goal percentage (.480). Morgan ranks fourth on the Panthers in scoring (10.4 ppg).
   Sophomore Wyatt Lohaus (North Liberty, Iowa) was named to the second-team Scholar-Athlete squad. Lohaus has a 3.28 cumulative GPA and is majoring in movement and exercise science. He has come off the bench in all 32 of his appearances this season. Lohaus ignited UNI with 11 points, five rebounds and four assists in a 53-50 win at No. 25-ranked Wichita State (Feb. 13). He has buried 81.0 percent of his free throws (17-of-21).
   Sophomore Ted Friedman tallied honorable mention Scholar-Athlete status. Friedman owns a 3.96 cumulative GPA with a double major in finance and psychology. Friedman has played in all 32 games averaging 1.1 points and 1.1 rebounds per game. He scored a career-high eight points at Richmond (Dec. 5). Friedman has been credited with 11 rebounds in MVC play.
   Morgan is UNI's 12th different player to earn multiple MVC Scholar-Athlete honors. (NOTE: Nick Pace earned scholar-athlete honors twice in the Mid-Continent and once in the MVC.)

   The last time UNI failed to make a 3-point basket came Feb. 3, 2000, vs. Southern Illinois in a 72-58 Panther victory in the UNI-Dome. UNI went 0-for-4 from 3-point land vs. the Salukis in that contest.Â

WINNING WAYS AT MCLEOD
The McLeod Center celebrated its 10th anniversary this season and the Panthers have made winning a priority in their home venue.
   UNI has posted an all-time mark of 124-31 (.800) in games played in the McLeod Center. UNI is 69-21 in MVC games in the McLeod Center.
   UNI secured a school-record 16 home wins in the 2012-13 season. The previous mark of 15 home wins was set in the 1989-90 season.Â
   UNI has posted a trio of perfect home seasons since moving to NCAA Division I. UNI was a perfect 14-0 in both the 1983-84 and 2009-10 seasons and then UNI notched a 15-0 mark at home last season.
   UNI set its home-court win streak of 21 consecutive victories between the 2008-09 and 2010-11 seasons.
   The McLeod Center opened in November 2006.

UNI MBB IN APR TOP-10 PERCENTÂ
The University of Northern Iowa men's basketball, men's golf, women's golf, women's cross country and women's volleyball teams have been recognized by the NCAA for their latest multi-year Academic Progress Rate (APR) scores. These teams posted multi-year APR scores in the top 10 percent of all squads in their respective sports.
   The UNI men's basketball team has been recognized with a perfect APR score (1,000) in each of the last three seasons - the only MVC school to do that in each of the past three years.
   The APR provides a real-time look at a team's academic success each semester by tracking the academic progress of each student-athlete on scholarship. The APR accounts for eligibility, retention and graduation and provides a measure of each team's academic performance.
MBB INKS 3 IN EARLY SIGNING
UNI has announced the signing of Isaiah Brown, Tanner Lohaus, Juwan McCloud to National Letters-of-Intent to play for UNI Beginning in 2016-17.
   Brown (Flower Mound, Texas/Flower Mound HS) is a 6'5", 170-pound, guard from Flower Mound, Texas. Brown averaged 14 points, 4.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2.0 steals as a junior at Flower Mound High School for head coach Eric Littleton. Flower Mound finished third in their district in 2014-15. He earned second-team all-district honors as a junior. He is the No. 25-ranked recruit in the 2016 recruiting class in the state of Texas according to Texas Hoops. He played AUU ball for Marcus Smart YGC36 for head coach Vonzell Thomas. He is the son of Craig and Sophia Brown. He has two siblings, Landon (10) and Maliyah (2).
   Lohaus (North Liberty, Iowa/Iowa City West HS) is a 6'7" 205-pound forward. Lohaus helped Iowa City West to the 2014 state championship for head coach Steve Bergman and a 23-3 record. Lohaus guided Iowa City West to a third-place finish in the 2015 state tournament with a 25-1 record. As a junior, Lohaus averaged 11.1 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists. He earned second-team all-Mississippi Valley Conference honors as a junior. He is the son of Anne Lohaus and Brad Lohaus. He is the younger brother of UNI sophomore guard Wyatt Lohaus.
   Juwan McCloud (Germantown, Wis./Germantown HS) is a 5'11" 150-pound guard. McCloud was named the North Shore Conference player of the year after helping lead the Warhawks to their sixth consecutive league crown. McCloud led Germantown HS to the Division I state championship game as a junior. He averaged 16.7 points per game as Germantown posted a mark of 27-1 in 2014-15 for then head coach Steve Showalter. McCloud played AAU with the Wisconsin Swing coached by Justin Litscher. He is the son of Brian and Mellisa McCloud. He has an older brother, Jalen.

The UNI-Wichita State game on Saturday will be broadcast on the CBS Sports Network. Tip is set for just after 2:30 p.m. (CT) at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis, Mo.

UNI is 2-1 against Wichita State in three previous meetings in the MVC Tournament.
   The last meeting in the MVC Tournament came in the 2010 championship game in which the Panthers scored a 67-52 triumph over the Shockers.
   The teams also met in the 2004 MVC semifinals with the Panthers notching a 63-56 win over the Shockers en route to the 2004 title.

UNI has posted a record of 20-19 all-time in the MVC Tournament.
   UNI has captured four MVC Tournament titles since joining the league in the 1991-92 season. UNI won the MVC Tournament in 2004, 2009, 2010 and 2015.
   The Panthers have reached the MVC tournament championship on five occasions. The Panthers reached the final game in 1994 (lost to Southern Illinois), 2004 (beat Missouri State), 2009 (beat Illinois State), 2010 (beat Wichita State) and 2015 (beat Illinois State).
BACK TO BACK TITLES
UNI is looking to become the seventh league team to win back-to-back MVC Tournament titles. Creighton was the last MVC school to win back-to-back titles in 2012 and 2013.
   UNI won consecutive MVC Tournament titles in 2009 and 2010.
COACH JAKE IN MVC TOURNEY
UNI head coach Ben Jacobson has posted an 11-6 mark in the MVC Tournament since taking over the head job in the 2006-07 season.
   Jacobson is tied for sixth in league history with 11 tournament wins with Nolan Richardson (Tulsa) and Jim Molinari (Bradley). Wichita State's Gregg Marshall ranks fifth in tourney history with 12 victories.

UNI has a 16-10 record (with four titles) at the MVC Tournament since Ben Jacobson arrived on staff in 2001-02.Â

DEFENSIVE IN ST. LOUIS
UNI head coach Ben Jacobson's teams average 60.2 points a contest in St. Louis while holding opponents to 55.4 points a game.Â
   The Panthers have scored more than 70 points three times (73 vs. Indiana State in 2009; 76 vs. Bradley in 2009; 71 vs. Bradley in 2015) in St. Louis.Â
   The Panthers have allowed more than 70 points once (73 vs. Illinois State in 2013) in that span.

ALL-MVC HONORS
Three members of the University of Northern Iowa men's basketball team have been named to the All-Missouri Valley Conference team.
   Senior Wes Washpun (Cedar Rapids, Iowa) earned second-team all-MVC honors after leading the Panthers in scoring (14.1) and assists (5.4). Washpun ranks second in the MVC in assists per game and needs seven more assists to tie the UNI single-season record for assists.Â
   Senior Matt Bohannon (Cedar Rapids, Iowa) and junior Jeremy Morgan (Coralville, Iowa) earned honorable mention all-MVC status.   Â
   Bohannon leads the MVC in three-pointers made (90) and ranks second on the Panthers in scoring (12.2). Bohannon needs six more made three-pointers to tie the UNI single-season record. Bohannon made three or more three-pointers in 20 games this season.
   Morgan is the only player in the league to lead his team in rebounding (165), steals (65) and blocks (25). Morgan ranks fourth on the Panther squad in scoring (10.4). He leads the MVC in steals per game (2.0). He ranks fifth in the MVC in field goal percentage (.480).Â

Sophomore forward Klint Carlson (Waverly, Iowa) was named to the MVC's All-Bench team as selected by the league's beat writers. Â Â Â
   Carlson came off the bench in all 29 of his appearances in the 2015-16 season. Carlson averaged 6.5 points per game with eight double-figure scoring contests. Carlson scored a career-high 15 points at North Dakota (Nov. 28). Carlson scored 12 points on two occasions in MVC play (vs. Bradley, at Wichita State).

KOCH EARNS MOST-IMPROVED NOD
Sophomore center Bennett Koch (Ashwaubenon, Wis.) earned a spot on the MVC's Most-Improved Team as chosen by the league's beat writers.
   Koch started all 32 games, while averaging 8.1 points and 3.6 rebounds. His combined scoring (+6.8) and rebounding (+3.0) improvement ranks second in the league to Bradley's Donte Thomas. Koch ranks third in the MVC in field goal percentage (.511). He notched his first career double-double with 22 points and 11 rebounds in a 67-58 win over Southern Illinois (Jan. 31). Koch upped his scoring average to 9.9 points per game in MVC games. Koch tallied 10 double-figure scoring games.

THREE EARN SCHOLAR-ATHLETE HONORS
UNI had three players honored on the MVC's Scholar-Athlete team.
   Junior Jeremy Morgan (Coralville, Iowa) earned first-team Scholar-Athlete honors after having posted a cumulative 3.21 GPA while majoring in management: business administration. Morgan has started all 32 games. He is the only player in the league to lead his team in rebounds (165), steals (65) and blocks (25). He ranks fifth in the MVC in field goal percentage (.480). Morgan ranks fourth on the Panthers in scoring (10.4 ppg).
   Sophomore Wyatt Lohaus (North Liberty, Iowa) was named to the second-team Scholar-Athlete squad. Lohaus has a 3.28 cumulative GPA and is majoring in movement and exercise science. He has come off the bench in all 32 of his appearances this season. Lohaus ignited UNI with 11 points, five rebounds and four assists in a 53-50 win at No. 25-ranked Wichita State (Feb. 13). He has buried 81.0 percent of his free throws (17-of-21).
   Sophomore Ted Friedman tallied honorable mention Scholar-Athlete status. Friedman owns a 3.96 cumulative GPA with a double major in finance and psychology. Friedman has played in all 32 games averaging 1.1 points and 1.1 rebounds per game. He scored a career-high eight points at Richmond (Dec. 5). Friedman has been credited with 11 rebounds in MVC play.
   Morgan is UNI's 12th different player to earn multiple MVC Scholar-Athlete honors. (NOTE: Nick Pace earned scholar-athlete honors twice in the Mid-Continent and once in the MVC.)

   Bohannon drained 167 three-pointers in 72 career MVC games.
   The previous UNI mark was set by Ben Jacobson with 113 three-pointers in MVC games only from 2002-2006.

Jeremy Morgan has tallied 65 steals to rank as the fourth-most steals in a single season in program history.
   His 65 steals ranks No. 23 in the nation in total steals.

   In 14 road games, Jesperson is scoring 13.4 points per game while shooting 46.7 percent from 3-point land (43-of-92).
   In 14 home games, Jesperson is scoring 8.6 points per game while shooting 29.4 percent from 3-point range (20-of-68).
PAUL NETS 500 AS A PANTHER
Senior guard Paul Jesperson become the 100th UNI men's basketball player to score 500 or more points for the Panthers.Â
   Jesperson has tallied 563 points in 66 career games for the Panthers.
   He has scored 757 points in his collegiate career. He posted 196 points at Virginia before transferring to UNI.

Senior guard Paul Jesperson has made at least two 3-pointers in 21 games this season. Jesperson ranks second on the team with 74 3-pointers.

   The last time UNI failed to make a 3-point basket came Feb. 3, 2000, vs. Southern Illinois in a 72-58 Panther victory in the UNI-Dome. UNI went 0-for-4 from 3-point land vs. the Salukis in that contest.Â

UNI's starting lineup features four 600-plus point collegiate scorers.
   Matt Bohannon has posted 1,067 career points, while Wes Washpun has recorded 987 points. Paul Jesperson has tallied 759 career points and Jeremy Morgan has been credited with 716 career points.Â

   Bohannon and Morgan are the two returning starters from last year's 31-4 Panther squad.
   Jesperson started 33 career games at the University of Virginia before transferring to UNI. Prior to this season, Jesperson's last start came at Virginia on March 27, 2013 vs. Iowa in the NIT.
   Washpun started 29 games as a sophomore for the Panthers. His last start previous the pair this season came March 7, 2014, in the MVC Tournament vs. Southern Illinois.
   Koch came off the bench in all 28 games he played as a redshirt freshman.

WINNING WAYS AT MCLEOD
The McLeod Center celebrated its 10th anniversary this season and the Panthers have made winning a priority in their home venue.
   UNI has posted an all-time mark of 124-31 (.800) in games played in the McLeod Center. UNI is 69-21 in MVC games in the McLeod Center.
   UNI secured a school-record 16 home wins in the 2012-13 season. The previous mark of 15 home wins was set in the 1989-90 season.Â
   UNI has posted a trio of perfect home seasons since moving to NCAA Division I. UNI was a perfect 14-0 in both the 1983-84 and 2009-10 seasons and then UNI notched a 15-0 mark at home last season.
   UNI set its home-court win streak of 21 consecutive victories between the 2008-09 and 2010-11 seasons.
   The McLeod Center opened in November 2006.

UNI MBB IN APR TOP-10 PERCENTÂ
The University of Northern Iowa men's basketball, men's golf, women's golf, women's cross country and women's volleyball teams have been recognized by the NCAA for their latest multi-year Academic Progress Rate (APR) scores. These teams posted multi-year APR scores in the top 10 percent of all squads in their respective sports.
   The UNI men's basketball team has been recognized with a perfect APR score (1,000) in each of the last three seasons - the only MVC school to do that in each of the past three years.
   The APR provides a real-time look at a team's academic success each semester by tracking the academic progress of each student-athlete on scholarship. The APR accounts for eligibility, retention and graduation and provides a measure of each team's academic performance.
MBB INKS 3 IN EARLY SIGNING
UNI has announced the signing of Isaiah Brown, Tanner Lohaus, Juwan McCloud to National Letters-of-Intent to play for UNI Beginning in 2016-17.
   Brown (Flower Mound, Texas/Flower Mound HS) is a 6'5", 170-pound, guard from Flower Mound, Texas. Brown averaged 14 points, 4.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2.0 steals as a junior at Flower Mound High School for head coach Eric Littleton. Flower Mound finished third in their district in 2014-15. He earned second-team all-district honors as a junior. He is the No. 25-ranked recruit in the 2016 recruiting class in the state of Texas according to Texas Hoops. He played AUU ball for Marcus Smart YGC36 for head coach Vonzell Thomas. He is the son of Craig and Sophia Brown. He has two siblings, Landon (10) and Maliyah (2).
   Lohaus (North Liberty, Iowa/Iowa City West HS) is a 6'7" 205-pound forward. Lohaus helped Iowa City West to the 2014 state championship for head coach Steve Bergman and a 23-3 record. Lohaus guided Iowa City West to a third-place finish in the 2015 state tournament with a 25-1 record. As a junior, Lohaus averaged 11.1 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists. He earned second-team all-Mississippi Valley Conference honors as a junior. He is the son of Anne Lohaus and Brad Lohaus. He is the younger brother of UNI sophomore guard Wyatt Lohaus.
   Juwan McCloud (Germantown, Wis./Germantown HS) is a 5'11" 150-pound guard. McCloud was named the North Shore Conference player of the year after helping lead the Warhawks to their sixth consecutive league crown. McCloud led Germantown HS to the Division I state championship game as a junior. He averaged 16.7 points per game as Germantown posted a mark of 27-1 in 2014-15 for then head coach Steve Showalter. McCloud played AAU with the Wisconsin Swing coached by Justin Litscher. He is the son of Brian and Mellisa McCloud. He has an older brother, Jalen.
