
Knodle Grabs Top-10 Finish At Texas Relays

AUSTIN, Texas – Seniors Paige Knodle and Rachel Peth wrapped up competition at the Texas Relays today, both taking on the heptathlon.
Knodle finished in sixth overall with a point total of 5,680, the best score in the Missouri Valley Conference this season. Peth finished with 4,234 to round out the UNI competitors.
Knodle and Peth started their competition in the 100 meter hurdles, with Knodle finishing with the fifth fastest time out of 30 competitors. She finished with a time of 13.71, the second fastest time in the Missouri Valley this season while Peth added a time of 14.66.
Moving into the high jump, Knodle went 5-3.00 while Peth turned in a mark of 5-00.50. Peth shined in the shot put, posting a mark of 36-5.75, the third best mark of her career.
Knodle recorded another fast time on the track after going for a toss of 33-9.25 in the shot put, running the fourth fastest 200 meter time in the event. Knodle came across the finish line with a time of 24.63, followed by Peth in 26.27.
Starting day two, Knodle opened competition in the long jump, notching a leap of 19-1.50 for third best in the Valley this season. Peth finished right behind Knodle in the long jump, finishing with a new personal-best in the event of 18-11.75.
In the javelin, Knodle came close to her personal-best and UNI record throw, going for 150-9.00 in her first javelin competition since 2014 for second overall. She wrapped up competition in the 800 meter run, placing third overall with a time of 2:16.25.
Knodle, Peth and the Panthers will return to action on April 9 when they head to Lincoln, Neb. for the Husker Spring Invitational.
