
Knodle, Peth Prepped For Texas Relays

Meet Schedule
CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – The University of Northern Iowa track and field program will send seniors Paige Knodle and Rachel Peth to the 89th Nike Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays, March 30-31.
Both student-athletes will compete in the heptathlon against the best in the country. This will be Peth's first trip to the historical Texas Relays, while Knodle will be making her second-career appearance.
Knodle is coming off one of the best indoor seasons of her career after sitting out last outdoor season due to injury. The senior won the MVC pentathlon title, earning MVC Women's Most Valuable Athlete of the Meet, Most Outstanding Track Athlete and Most Outstanding Field Athlete on the way to also earning All-America second-team at the NCAA Indoor Championships.
Prior to her injury, Knodle finished fourth overall in the heptathlon at the 2014 NCAA Outdoor Championships, grabbing first-team All-America honors and a personal-best point total of 5,681 to rank her second all-time at UNI. Knodle also won the MVC title in the mutlis, becoming the first UNI female student-athlete to be named MVC Outdoor Meet MVP.
Peth, a junior out of Waverly, Iowa won the women's heptathlon at the 2015 MVC Outdoor Championships, her first individual title as a Panther. Her career-best 5,425 points put her fourth all-time at UNI, while scoring PRs in the 200, 800, 100 hurdles, high jump, long jump, shot put and javelin during the competition.
The junior started her career at UNI as a two-sport athlete, also playing for the UNI volleyball team, showing once again her range in athletic ability. Peth has scored team points in the multi-events at both the indoor and outdoor MVC Championships for three consecutive seasons, also adding points in the women's hurdles competitions.
The Texas Relays start on Wednesday, March 30 with the heptathlon kicking off at 10:30 a.m. (Day 1 – 100 Hurdles, High Jump, Shot Put, 200 Meter Dash) and will conclude on Thursday, March 31 with the second day starting at 11 a.m. (Day 2 – Long Jump, Javelin, 800 Meters).
