UNI Prepped For Third Round Game At South Dakota

The Basics: The University of Northern Iowa women's basketball team will take on the South Dakota Coyotes on Thursday, March 24 in Vermillion, S.D. in hopes of reaching the WNIT Quarterfinals. The game is set to tip-off at 7 p.m. CT.
The Series: UNI evened the all-time series against South Dakota with a 64-43 win in the second game of the 2015-16 season, making it 6-6 in the series that dates back to 1978. UNI is 6-1 against the Coyotes when playing in Cedar Falls, but has yet to pick up a win while in Vermillion. This will be UNI's first post-season game against South Dakota and the second game in a row that UNI will play against a regular season opponent in the WNIT.

• UNI has made its sixth post-season appearance in the last seven seasons with its WNIT berth this year.
• UNI's win over Nebraska on Thursday, March 17 was its second WNIT win in school history. The Panthers "Sweet 16" round game against South Dakota (3/24) is the furthest UNI has advanced in post-season play since its WBI championship game run during the 2011-12 season.

She now holds 189 this season, passing Kelley Westhoff who had 180 in 1996-97. Westhoff also held the previous single-game record of 13, set three times between 1996 and 1997.

Two's a Crowd: Madison Weekly became just the second player in UNI history to score 600 points in a single-season, joining UNI alum and assistant Drake coach Jacqui Kalin who had 662 in 2012-13. Weekly now has 609 points this season after her 13 in UNI's WNIT win over Drake (3/19).
Dimes to Points: UNI had 19 assists on 24 made buckets against Drake (3/19). This season, UNI has 486 assists on 766 made field goals. UNI's 63-percent assists-to-points ratio leads the league this season.
