The Basics: The University of Northern Iowa women's basketball team is set to take on the Nebraska Cornhuskers on Thursday, March 17 in the first round of the Women's National Invitation Tournament. The game is set for a 7 p.m. tip in Lincoln.
The Series: UNI and Nebraska have faced off six times in program history, with their last meeting taking place in the NCAA Tournament in 2010. The series started back in 1989 with UNI playing two games in Lincoln in 1989 and 1994. Despite not playing against the Huskers since 2010, Warren and current Nebraska head coach Connie Yori, have some familiarity with each other. Yori and Warren played at Creighton together, with their Bluejay jerseys being the only two jerseys retired in Creighton history.

• UNI will make its sixth post-season appearance in the last seven seasons when they play in the first round of the WNIT on Thursday.

Coaching Friends: Head coach Tanya Warren and Nebraska head coach Connie Yori were college teammates at Creighton, the only two Creighton women's basketball players to have their jerseys retired. Career-High: Sharnae Lamar finished the game against Missouri State (3/13) with a career-high 16 points, shooting 75-percent from the field. Lamar turned in a top-performance during UNI's MVC Tournament run, earning All-Tournament team honors.
