UNI Set For Semifinal Game vs. Southern Illinois

The Basics: The University of Northern Iowa women's basketball team is set for the semifinal game of the MVC Tournament on Saturday, March 12 when they take on the Southern Illinois Salukis. The game is set for a 1:30 p.m. tip.
The Series: UNI currently holds a 35-32 lead in the all-time series against the Salukis while splitting the season series this year. This is the second straight year that the Panthers have played against Southern Illinois in the MVC Tournament, defeating them 59-50 in the quarterfinals in 2015. UNI and Southern's game in St. Charles last season was the only time the two times have met on a neutral court.

• UNI won the Missouri Valley Conference regular season title with its 61-48 win over Evansville (3/5), its second regular season championship under the direction of Tanya Warren after also winning during the 2010-11 season.
• UNI's 15 conference wins this season is the second most in school history, trailing the 17 UNI put up during the 2010-11 championship season.
• The Panthers enter the game ranked No. 3 in NCAA Division I basketball in fewest turnovers and No. 4 in turnovers per game, averaging 11.3.
