UNI Names February Student-Athletes of the Month

This months' honorees are Matt Bohannon (Marion, Iowa), Molly Lembezeder (Peosta, Iowa), Jeremy Morgan (Coralville, Iowa) and Aftin Phyfe (Waverly, Iowa).
Molly Lembezeder - Swimming and Diving
Molly Lembezeder continued to re-write UNI's history book at the MVC Swimming and Diving Championships. In total, Lembezeder received five first places finishes, a third place and a fourth place finish. Lembezeder teamed up with Aftin Phyfe, Autumn Roepsch and Crystal Florman to create a new MVC record in the 400 freestyle relay, with a time of three minutes and 23.56 seconds. Lembezeder also teamed up with Roepsch, Florman and Rachel Siebenaller for a first place spot in the 200 freestyle relay, timing in at 1:33.41. Lembezeder's next relay was the 200 medley relay with Madison Rinaldi, Veronica Herrmann and Florman with a time of 1:42.37. Individually, Lembezeder took home first place finishes in the 50 and 100 freestyle events, timing in at 23.16 for the 50 and 50.79 for the 100. Lembezeder took home third place with Phyfe, Siebenaller and Sierra Sachtjen in the 800 freestyle relay with a time of 7:27.70. Lembezeder would take home fourth place in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:51.42.
Matt Bohannon – Men's Basketball
Bohannon buried a team-best 22 three-pointers and averaged 12.4 points per game in the month of February. He ranked second on the team in rebounding with a 4.9 per game average over the eight contests. Bohannon made at least one three-pointer in all eight games and shot 45.8 percent from beyond the arc. He scored a month-high 19 points in an 83-69 win over Missouri State (Feb. 10). He was a perfect 13-for-13 at the free throw in the month of February.
Jeremy Morgan – Men's Basketball
Morgan led the team in rebounding (46), steals (14) and blocks (11) in the month of February. He also averaged 10.5 points per game in helping UNI to a 7-1 mark in February. He ranked second on the squad with 30 assists in the month. Morgan scored a career-high 21 points in an 83-69 win over Missouri State (Feb. 10). He set a career-high with five blocks and scored 13 points in 75-66 victory over Illinois State (Feb. 20).
Aftin Phyfe - Swimming and Diving
Aftin Phyfe continued to be an asset to the UNI Swimming and Diving team. Phyfe was part of three relays that placed in the Top-3 and had two Top-8 finishes in individual events. Phyfe teamed up with Molly Lembezeder, Autumn Roepsch and Crystal Florman to create a new MVC record in the 400 freestyle relay, with a time of three minutes and 23.56 seconds. Phyfe took second place in the 400 medley relay with Madison Rinaldi, Florman and Veronica Herrmann, timing in at 3:44.83. Phyfe took home third place with Lembezeder, Siebenaller and Sierra Sachtjen in the 800 freestyle relay with a time of 7:27.70. Individually, Phyfe took third place in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:01.47 and placed in the Top-8 in the 200 IM with a time of 2:07.29.
