Carlson Named All-Bench; Koch Tabbed Most-Improved

MVC All-Bench, Most-Improved Teams (PDF)

Sophomore forward Klint Carlson (Waverly, Iowa) was named to the MVC's All-Bench team as selected by the league's beat writers.

Carlson came off the bench in all 28 of his appearances in the 2015-16 season. Carlson averaged 6.5 points per game with eight double-figure scoring contests. Carlson scored a career-high 15 points at North Dakota (Nov. 28). Carlson scored 12 points on two occasions in MVC play (vs. Bradley, at Wichita State).

Sophomore center Bennett Koch (Ashwaubenon, Wis.) earned a spot on the MVC's Most-Improved Team as chosen by the league's beat writers.

Koch started all 31 games, while averaging 8.0 points and 3.5 rebounds. His combined scoring (+6.7) and rebounding (+2.9) improvement ranks second in the league to Bradley's Donte Thomas. Koch ranks third in the MVC in field goal percentage (.511). He notched his first career double-double with 22 points and 11 rebounds in a 67-58 win over Southern Illinois (Jan. 31). Koch upped his scoring average to 9.9 points per game in MVC games. Koch tallied 10 double-figure scoring games.
