Carnes Earns Back-to-Back Athlete of the Week Honors

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Junior Brandon Carnes has been named the MVC Male Track Athlete of the Week for the second consecutive week, it was announced today by league officials.
Carnes earned his fourth MVC Athlete of the Week honor after staying undefeated in the 60 and 200 meter dashes at the Mark Messersmith Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 30. He also won MVC Athlete of the Week for his standout performance at the Big 4 Duals on Jan. 23.Carnes won both the events at the Mark Messersmith Invitational, keeping himself ranked at the top of the Missouri Valley. He won the 60 meter dash with a time of 6.72, followed by another strong time of 21.54 in the final of the 200 meters for the victory.
The junior from Bradenton, Fla. is ranked No. 19 in the country in the 60 meter dash and No. 22 in the 200 meters. Carnes and the rest of the Panthers will split this weekend between the Meyo Invitational and the Nebraska Invitational.Players Mentioned
