University of Northern Iowa head women's soccer coach Chris Logan has resigned his Panther post to take over as the head coach of the women's soccer program at the University of North Dakota.
Â
"We are saddened that Chris has decided to leave our program," UNI Director of Athletic David Harris said. "Chris did a good job during this past year laying the foundation for the future success of our team. We want to thank him for his service to UNI and wish him the best as he transitions to this new opportunity. We are committed to having a successful women's soccer program and will begin a national search for our next head women's soccer coach immediately."
Â
Assistant coach Jeremy Clevenger will serve as the interim head coach during the search process.
Â
Logan served one season as the UNI head coach and led the Panthers to their highest finish in the Missouri Valley Conference in program history. Logan guided the Panthers to the No. 3 seed in the MVC Tournament with a league record of 2-2-2 and an overall mark of 8-8-3. UNI went 7-2-1 in 10 home matches.
Â
This past season, the Panther squad had six players earn all-conference recognition – the most in the program's history. UNI set single-season school records for points (67), goals (27), goals per game (1.42), shots (250) and shutouts (7). UNI's eight wins tied for the second-most in school history behind the 2003 squad's total of 10 victories.
Logan came to UNI having served as an assistant women's soccer coach at North Dakota State. He was on the Bison coaching staff for four seasons, including the final three as an associate head coach. NDSU won the Summit League regular season title in 2015.
