The Basics: The University of Northern Iowa women's basketball program heads to warmer weather as they play in the Grand Canyon Thanksgiving Tournament, Nov. 25-26. UNI takes on Idaho first on Nov. 25 at 3 p.m. CT followed by a battle against Denver on Nov. 26 at 2 p.m. CT.
The Series: Both of UNI's opponents in the Grand Canyon Thanksgiving Tournament are new foes with the Panthers having never faced off against the Vandals or University of Denver.
Five Facts:
• UNI ranks first in the Missouri Valley Conference in three-point field goals made (22), averaging 7.3 per game.
• UNI is taking care of the ball on both ends of the court, ranking second in the Valley in scoring offense (69.7) and fourth in scoring defense (65.0).
• UNI is ranked No. 18 in the CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Top 25.
• UNI was named to the Women's Basketball Coaches Association Honor Roll for the 2015-16 season, earning the eighth best GPA in NCAA Division I Women's Basketball.
It was 13th season UNI has been ranked in the top-15.
• Head coach Tanya Warren holds an overall record of 164-132 in her 10th season at UNI.

Panthers vs. The Summit League: UNI has faced off against six of the nine teams currently in the Summit League, adding Denver to the list after Nov. 26. The Panthers have an overall record of 29-31 against the current members of the Summit League and 12-11 record under the direction of Tanya Warren.
Leading Scorer: Madison Weekly scored 20 points against Oklahoma State (11/23), her 22nd career-game to reach the 20-point mark.
First Time Out: Rose Simon-Ressler scored her first collegiate points against Oklahoma State (11/23), adding five to UNI's total.
From the Stripe: True freshman Abby Gerrits scored seven points against the Cowgirls (11/23), including going 3-for-4 from the charity stripe.
Closing on 100: Senior Madison Weekly has played in a career 96 games for the Panthers. Through four games in 2016-17, Weekly has moved up on the career all-times lists at UNI.
