Dunne Earns National Player of the Week Nod

CHARLESTON, S.C. - The College Football Performance Awards has named sophomore quarterback Eli Dunne the FCS National Performer of the Week.

This is Dunne's first national player of the week nod and his second award of the week, also earning MVFC Offensive Player of the Week. Dunne's recognition comes on the heels of his dominant performance in UNI's 61-7 win over Missouri State on Oct. 22.

Dunne finished the game against the Bears with 25 completions for 418 yards in his first-career start as a Panther. The sophomore led the Panthers to 556 yards on offense that included two passing touchdowns.

It was the first time since 2009 that a UNI quarterback had passed for 400-plus yards with Dunne setting a new school record for yards in a starting debut. He was a part of seven passing plays that gained 20-plus yards and completed 12 passes in a row to start the game.

Dunne and the Panthers will return to action on Saturday, Oct. 29 when they host North Dakota State. The game is set for a 6 p.m. CT kick for UNI's Black Out game.
