Appleman Named MVFC Offensive Lineman of the Week

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Sophomore Jacob Appleman has been named the Missouri Valley Football Conference Offensive Lineman of the Week, it was announced today.
Appleman has started all seven games at right tackle for the Panthers, putting in a strong performance in UNI's 61-7 win over Missouri State on Saturday. The Rock Island, Ill., native helped the UNI offense to a season-high 556 yards.
The sophomore graded out at an 88-percent against the Bears on the way to leading an offensive line that only allowed one sack in the game. He helped Eli Dunne to a career-high 418 passing yards, protecting Dunne in the pocket. Appleman was intrumental in creating holes for the Panthers that rushed for over 100 yards, allowing four different running backs to get in the end zone.
Appleman and the Panthers will return to action on Saturday, Oct. 29 when they host the North Dakota State Bison for its Black Out game. Fans can purchase the the official Black Out t-shirt here.
