The University of Northern Iowa women's soccer team saw its unbeaten home season come to an end Sunday afternoon, falling to intra-state rival Iowa State, 1-0.

It was senior day for the Panthers as they honored Ali Heithoff, Camille Dela Cruz, Amber Nieland, Mary Brandt and Whitney Blunt.

The first half of the match was a physical battle, with both teams attempting to set the tone. Chances were few and far between with only two shots between the teams.

The second half followed a similar script until Iowa State's Klasey Medelberg sent an attempted cross into the box that curled its way into the net.

UNI would counter with Camille Dela Cruz firing just wide of the mark late in the half. Despite heavy pressure the Panthers were unable to find an equalizer, ending 1-0. The loss moved the Panther record at home this season to 7-1-1

Sarah Brandt, Camille Dela Cruz, Kelsey Yarrow, and Sydney Hayden all registered one shot in the game.
