NEW ORLEANS, La. - The University of Northern Iowa women's cross country team moved up to the No. 9 spot in the USTFCCCA Midwest Region this week after a standout performance at the Bradley Classic.

The UNI women placed third overall at the Bradley Classic, beating five teams that were ranked in the top-15 in the Midwest Region heading into the meet. UNI has been ranked No. 15 in regional poll the last two weeks.

UNI's third place finish at the Bradley Classic was the fourth meet this season that the women have finished in the top-five as a team.

The Panthers had some outstanding individual performances as well in Peoria, Ill. on Friday, lead by true freshman
Hannah Truniger. She placed 11th overall in the 6K, finishing with a time of 21:09.60 to rank No. 4 all-time at UNI.

Kelsey Kirchoff, who is already ranked No. 2 in the 6K in UNI history, finished 18th overall out of the 232 competitors with a time of 21:20.20, followed closely by
Ashley Norem who placed 22nd. Norem ran a personal-best time of 21:29.20, also landing her at No. 7 on the UNI all-time list for the 6K.

Brette Correy joined Norem and Truniger on UNI's top-10 all-time list, running the ninth fastest time in school history. She finished 31st overall with a time of 21:41.90.

UNI returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 29 when they host the MVC Championships at Pheasant Ridge Golf Course. The women's race will start at 10:30 a.m., followed by the men at 11:30 a.m.
