UNI Finishes Day 2 of ITA Regionals

MINNEAPOLIS--The University of Northern Iowa women's tennis team continued action today at the ITA Central Regional competition.
Action will resume at 10 a.m. on Saturday morning.
In singles action, Gisela Kemper fell to Carla Tur Mari (9) of Oklahoma State, 6-1,6-3.
Martina Okalova (17) of Tulsa defeated Elvira Lopez, 6-0, 6-1.
In the consolation bracket, Jieke Stroobant defeated Alye Darter (Missouri State), 6-1, 6-3. Stroobant will compete against Carin Runefelt (Iowa) in the next round of consolation matches.
Sydney Wolfe fell to Malene Stripp (Oklahoma), 7-5, 6-0.
Savanna Hunt fell to Emily Van Dijk (South Dakota State), 6-2, 7-5.
In the doubles brackets, all three Panther duos were defeated in competition.
Jieke Stroobant and Sydney Wolfe fell to Ruppert/Stresnakova (9) of Oklahoma State, 8-4.
Savanna Hunt and Gisela Kemper fell to Dadierddy/Ploner of Tulsa, 8-2.
Elvira Lopez and Astrid Santos fell to Haakenstad/Reifeis of Nebraska, 8-7 (2).
