Panthers Ready To Run At Bradley Classic

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – The University of Northern Iowa track and field program will head to Peoria, Ill. on Friday, Oct. 14 to take on the Bradley Classic.
The Bradley Classic will be UNI's final meet before the Panthers host the MVC Cross Country Championships on Saturday, Oct. 29. at the Pheasant Ridge Golf Course in Cedar Falls.
UNI will field 11 runners for the men and 10 runners for the women. The Panther women will be in action starting at 3:30 p.m. on Friday in the 6K with the men running an 8K at 4:15 p.m.
The Panthers have had a strong 2016 season with a veteran group of women leading the charge along with a youthful group on the men's team that has added depth for UNI.
The women's team has been ranked in No. 15 in the Midwest Region for the past two weeks, led by junior Ashley Norem. Norem has been UNI's highest finisher at each meet, including a strong performance at the Notre Dame Invite where she finished 17th out of 222 runners, earning the sixth best time in school history and MVC Athlete of the Week honors.
On the men's side, Bailey Wetherell has put together a string of top performances for the Panthers. He opened the year with a top-20 finish at the Hawkeye Invitational and recently placed in the top-50 out of 183 racers at the Notre Dame Invitational in the 8K.
