Rathmacher Named To FCS ADA Academic All-Star Team

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Senior offensive lineman Jacob Rathmacher has been named to the 2015 FCS ADA Academic All-Star team, it was announced today.
Rathmacher, a senior out of Story City, Iowa, is one of 10 finalists selected for the 15th annual FCS ADA $5,000 postgraduate scholarships. Two student-athletes will receive scholarships during the Association's annual membership meeting held in conjunction with the 2016 National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) Convention June 13-15.
The FCS ADA Academic All-Star team is in its 18th year with 96 total nominees in 2015. Nominees are required to have a minimum 3.20 GPA in undergraduate study and have been a starter or key player with legitimate athletic credentials. The Academic All-Star team is comprised of 52 winners, with eight coming from the Missouri Valley Football Conference.
Rathmacher, a double-major in biology and biochemistry, was named a CoSIDA Academic All-American and to the Academic All-District first-team this year along with earning MVFC Scholar-Athlete first-team honors. He started all 14 games for the Panthers on the offensive line, helping UNI to a school record 3,266 rushing yards.
