Panthers Post PRs At Jack Jennett Invite

RESULTS
CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – The University of Northern Iowa track and field team finished competition at the Jack Jennett Invitational on Friday, posting personal-bests across the board.
Raheem Black started the meet off with his first win in the 60 meter dash this season. He finished with a time of 7.04 in the preliminary race, and bested it with a fast time of 6.99 in the finals for the win. Freshman Tanner Dunkin also turned in a third place finish in the finals, tying his PR of 7.03.
Two-sport athlete Daurice Fountain finished with his first win of the season, running a personal-best in the men's 60 meter hurdles. Fountain ran a time of 8.21 to qualify for the finals, then blasted it away with a huge PR of 8.11 in the finals for the win.
Evan Long won the men's 200 meters, coming in with a time of 22.33. Black returned in the 200 meter dash with a second place finish, running an indoor personal-best of 22.39.
Madison Beeler won the women's 400 meter dash with a time of 56.97 with Maddie Irmen placing second, scoring a PR time of 58.59. On the men's side, Brett McCalla ran his first 400 meters of the season, placing second with an indoor career-best time of 49.67.
Jordan and Wade Pingel battled it out in the 800 meter run for the second time this season, with Jordan coming away victorious with a time of 1:55.41. Wade placed second overall, turning in a time of 1:55.46. Wrapping up UNI's middle distance events was Andrew Arndt, winning the men's mile with a time of 4:23.76.
In the field events, Jamie Lindstrom posted another win in the shot put, going for a season-best toss of 49-2.50, followed by a second place finish from Chloe Schmidt with a season-best mark of 43-5.25. Lindstrom also won the women's weight throw (59-1.00), with the Panthers earning three top-five finishes. Schmidt took second place with a season-best throw of 55-7.00 while freshman Hope Koerperich threw a personal-best mark of 47-8.00 for fourth place.
Brad Walski continued to pick up wins in the men's weight throw competition, throwing for a distance of 58-6.75 to top the board. Holtz placed second in the event with a mark of 57-6.50, followed by a personal-best toss of 55-7.75 from Evan Colfack to round out the top-three finishers in the weight throw.
Lauren Frederick placed in the top-10 in the women's pentathlon competition, earning 3,508 points for a personal-record and eighth place finish. She record PRs in the 800 meters (2:26.18), 60 hurdles (9.13), long jump (16-10.00) and the shot put (35-1.75).
Paige Knodle and Rachel Peth also competed in parts of the women's heptathlon, with Knodle notching a personal-best in the 60 hurdles for the second week in a row. She ran a time of 8.41, beating her previous career-best of 8.49 that she set at the Big 4 Duals last Saturday.
In the men's multis, Austin Heitland represented the Panthers in the heptathlon, rounding up 2,563 points through the first day of competition. He finished with personal-bests in the high jump (5-9.75) and shot put (38-10.50) with three events to go.
The Panthers return to action tomorrow with the completion of the Jack Jennett Invitational multi-events at 10 a.m. and the Mark Messersmith Invitational starting at 11 a.m.
